I started composing music at the age of 12 and by the age of 15 had composed three full orchestral symphonies and a concerto as well as numerous other works for chamber ensemble.  By 16 I’d had my first piece of music put into print by Kevin Mayhew Publishers (who publishes much of my work to this day).

My music has always been traditional, tonal and “Romantic” with a capital “R”  –  but now, some years on, I have decided that the time has come for me to find a new compositional voice and discover new years of working.  As I journey from the Romantic to the avant-garde this blog documents my thoughts, feelings and breakthroughs  –  as well as the inevitable occasional disappointment along the way.

I hope you’ll enjoy reading this blog.  Please feel free to make comments in response to my posts.
